MzansiGo Rider Terms of Use

Version 1.0 · Effective 14 September 2026 · Last updated 14 September 2026

These Rider Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the MzansiGo Rider application, website and related services.

The MzansiGo Platform is operated by MzansiGo Innovations (Pty) Ltd, incorporated in the Republic of South Africa.

By creating a Rider account, selecting that you agree to these Terms, or using the MzansiGo Platform where acceptance is required, you agree to these Terms.

1. What MzansiGo Does

MzansiGo operates a technology platform through which Riders can request, schedule, pay for and manage transportation services made available by eligible Drivers using the platform.

MzansiGo currently provides transportation options that may include:

Other MzansiGo services may be introduced in future. Additional terms may apply where clearly disclosed.

2. Your MzansiGo Account

You must provide accurate and current information when creating and maintaining your account. You are responsible for maintaining reasonable security over your account and authentication information.

You may not use false information, impersonate another person, use another person's payment information without permission, use MzansiGo for fraud or unlawful activity, or deliberately interfere with the Platform.

MzansiGo may verify information including your mobile number, identity or payment information where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or operation of the Platform.

3. Booking a Ride

You must provide accurate pickup, destination and other required trip information. Before confirming a booking or payment, you should check the trip and pricing information presented to you.

Submitting a ride request does not guarantee that a Driver will be available or accept the trip. Where one Driver declines or cancels but MzansiGo continues attempting to match you with another eligible Driver, your underlying booking may remain active.

4. GoNow

GoNow enables immediate or near-immediate transportation. Eligible Drivers may receive your request and decide whether to accept it.

Estimated pickup and arrival times are estimates rather than guarantees. Traffic, road closures, Driver availability, weather, emergencies and other circumstances can affect them.

If MzansiGo cannot fulfil a paid GoNow booking and you are entitled to a refund under applicable law or MzansiGo's applicable cancellation/refund rules, the eligible amount will be handled through the applicable refund mechanism.

5. GoDaily

GoDaily allows you to arrange scheduled or recurring transportation and may use upfront or bundle payment.

Cancelling, skipping, postponing or changing one GoDaily journey does not necessarily cancel the entire recurring arrangement. Where an individual occurrence qualifies for a refund or credit under the applicable booking rules, only the eligible value associated with that occurrence may be refunded or credited rather than the value of the entire bundle.

6. GoSocial

GoSocial enables transportation to be reserved in advance and may include additional safety and Driver-verification functionality.

Before beginning a GoSocial journey, MzansiGo may require you to verify the assigned Driver, verify or scan the vehicle registration/number plate, and scan an authorised MzansiGo QR code.

Do not knowingly proceed in a vehicle where the Driver or vehicle materially differs from the information provided by MzansiGo.

Where a GoSocial booking involves different people contributing towards payment, refunds or adjustments will be attributed to the appropriate payer according to the relevant payment and booking records.

7. Fares and Pricing

MzansiGo will display the applicable fare, estimated fare or relevant pricing information before you authorise the booking or payment where reasonably practicable.

Pricing may take account of trip distance, expected journey time, service type, scheduled arrangements, disclosed fees, waiting time where applicable, tolls, parking or similar trip-specific costs where applicable.

MzansiGo will not knowingly impose undisclosed charges.

8. Payments

MzansiGo may use authorised third-party payment providers, including Paystack, to process payments.

By approving a payment, you authorise the applicable payment provider and MzansiGo to process the amount disclosed for the booking. Payment may be subject to security, verification, fraud-prevention or authentication requirements.

Drivers should not require you to provide payment-card credentials directly to them.

9. Cancellations

You may cancel bookings where cancellation is permitted through the MzansiGo Platform.

For advance reservations and bookings, any cancellation charge imposed by MzansiGo will be intended to be reasonable in the circumstances and consistent with applicable South African consumer law.

Relevant circumstances may include how much notice was given, whether a Driver had already committed to or travelled towards the booking, the nature of the booking, costs reasonably incurred, and whether MzansiGo had a reasonable opportunity to allocate the service to another Rider.

MzansiGo will not impose a cancellation charge merely as a penalty unrelated to the circumstances of the cancellation.

10. Refunds and Credits

Where you are entitled to a refund, MzansiGo will process the eligible amount using the applicable approved refund mechanism. Where a refund is returned to the original payment method, timing may depend on the payment provider and your financial institution.

MzansiGo may also provide credits where permitted and clearly identified. Promotional credit and refundable customer funds may be treated differently.

A Driver declining an individual request does not automatically create a refund entitlement where MzansiGo continues matching the same paid booking with another Driver.

11. Rider Wallet

Where available, your MzansiGo Rider Wallet may display credits, referral earnings, promotional value or other balances. Different categories of Wallet balance may have different conditions.

A balance identified as promotional or non-cashable credit may only be used for the purposes permitted by MzansiGo and does not automatically represent money available for withdrawal.

12. Waiting Time

You should be ready at the agreed pickup point at the applicable pickup time. Where waiting charges apply, MzansiGo will disclose the applicable rules and pricing before charging you where required.

13. Driver and Vehicle Verification

MzansiGo may provide information to help you identify the Driver and vehicle assigned to your trip, including Driver name, photograph, vehicle make/model, colour, registration and QR or other verification information.

You should reasonably verify that the Driver and vehicle correspond with the information displayed in MzansiGo before beginning the trip.

14. GoGuardian and Safety

MzansiGo may provide GoGuardian and other safety functionality. GoGuardian may allow you to share information concerning an active trip with a trusted contact.

Live-location functionality depends upon factors including GPS accuracy, network connectivity, device settings and permissions. No mobile safety feature can guarantee personal safety or replace emergency services.

If you believe that you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services.

15. Location and Navigation

MzansiGo may process location information where required for pickup positioning, Driver matching, trip operation, navigation, safety, GoGuardian and fraud prevention.

GPS and mapping information can occasionally be inaccurate. Drivers may use external navigation services supported by MzansiGo, and a suggested route may change because of traffic, road conditions, closures, emergencies or reasonable safety considerations.

16. Your Conduct

You must treat Drivers, passengers, MzansiGo staff and other Platform users with dignity and respect.

17. Children and Minors

Where MzansiGo permits transportation involving children or minors, the responsible adult must comply with applicable law and any additional MzansiGo requirements relating to age, consent, supervision and child safety.

18. Lost Property

If you believe property was left in a Driver's vehicle, contact MzansiGo Support as soon as reasonably possible. MzansiGo may assist with communication between you and the Driver but cannot guarantee that an item will be found or returned.

19. Complaints, Ratings and Support

You may provide feedback or submit complaints concerning a trip or Driver. Feedback should be truthful and must not knowingly contain false, threatening, discriminatory or unlawful material.

MzansiGo may investigate complaints, payment disputes and safety incidents and may review relevant account, trip, payment, location and communication information where lawful and reasonably necessary.

20. Service Standards

MzansiGo will endeavour to provide its Platform and services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove a remedy that South African law says you are entitled to.

21. Platform Availability

MzansiGo cannot guarantee that its technology will be available without interruption at all times. Temporary interruptions may arise from maintenance, telecommunications failures, mapping services, payment services, hosting providers, security incidents or circumstances outside MzansiGo's reasonable control.

22. Third-Party Services

MzansiGo uses third-party providers for certain functionality, which may include payments, mapping, navigation, communications, notifications and hosting. Those services may be subject to their providers' own terms and privacy notices.

23. Privacy and Personal Information

MzansiGo processes personal information in accordance with applicable South African law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Further details are contained in the MzansiGo Privacy Policy.

24. Fair and Reasonable Terms

MzansiGo intends these Terms to be fair, reasonable and understandable. Nothing in these Terms requires you to waive a consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

If any provision is found to be unfair, unlawful or unenforceable, it will be interpreted or limited to the extent necessary under applicable law without automatically invalidating the remainder of these Terms.

25. Important Risk and Liability Notice

Please read this section carefully. It limits certain potential claims against MzansiGo, but it does not remove rights or remedies that South African law does not allow MzansiGo to exclude.

MzansiGo provides the technology platform and associated services used to facilitate transportation arrangements. Transport and road travel inherently involve risks, including traffic accidents, delays, road hazards and the actions of other road users.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, MzansiGo will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from circumstances outside MzansiGo's reasonable control, such as a missed flight, appointment, event or business opportunity caused by a delay.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, consumer rights or remedies where South African law prohibits that exclusion or limitation.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to excuse fraud, grossly negligent conduct or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

26. Suspension or Termination

MzansiGo may reasonably restrict, suspend or terminate an account because of fraud, material breach of these Terms, serious misconduct, threats to safety, unlawful activity, abuse of the Platform or material payment abuse.

27. Changes to These Terms

MzansiGo may update these Terms where reasonably necessary because of changes to the Platform, business operations, safety requirements or law. The version and effective date will be displayed on this page.

Where a material change requires renewed acceptance, MzansiGo may ask you to accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the relevant services.

28. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from exercising rights or using dispute-resolution mechanisms available under applicable South African law.
